5 INCH GAUGE SOUTHERN KING ARTHUR (SIR GARETH)
A very rare immaculate 5" gauge Southern King Arthur Class 4-6-0 express passenger locomotive.
This engine has been scratch built by Les Clark and Owned by Les Warnett and built From works drawings to a very high standard. Wheels are cast as full size with elliptical spokes main frames are constructed out of 5/32 " plate, the front of the frames are Milled to give it the scale look.
Hydrostatic Lubrication, Cannon Axle Boxes, Blower, whistle, detailed Tender , Screw Reverser, Twin injector, hand pump, steam brakes to Driving wheels, Silver Soldered Copper Boiler with Radiant super heaters, 7 " Driving Wheels, Cast iron piston valve cylinders fitted with cast iron piston rings 1.3/4" bore 2.1/2" stroke
The engine runs as good as it looks this has been used by my father for the last 12 months a very powerful performer pull and been tested to pull 20 passengers and extremely efficient on coal and water consumption ticks over like a sewing machine very smooth transition notches back and runs fast on short cut offs. Cab details as full size prototype fire door fitted with internal lap plate.
