Buying from me

• Every item listed on this site has notes and, usually, one or more photographs which you can see. The photographs are usually taken outside the workshop, in good natural light.
  
  
• I describe all my stock as accurately and impartially as possible, "warts and all" if necessary. You are welcome to inspect anything in the workshop, please call to arrange a visit first - I'm pretty flexible on visiting hours Monday to Saturday dawn to dusk but closed Sunday.
  
  
• Everything I sell is on 7 days approval. If it's not what you expected or thought had been described, I will take it back provided it is in substantially the same condition that it went out. I refund the price in full less shipping - no "ifs", no "buts", no quibbling!
  
  
• I don't accept deposits to reserve items. If you want to come and see an engine, give me a call - I am usually more than happy to hold it for 7 days to give you a chance to make arrangements to visit.
  
  
• I can accept payment in cash (UK£ sterling) or cheque. Credit card payment is preferred for overseas customers - it affords you a high degree of consumer protection and relieves me of currency conversion problems. Funds can also be wire-transferred direct to my bank account. I reserve the right to clear personal cheques before despatching goods. In general I don't accept credit cards for larger purchases - usually anything over £1000 - unless by prior arrangement, due to high commission charges.
  
  
• I will ship any locomotive and make the boxes for transportation however I will not take responsibility for any locomotive being damaged in transit payment will be paid by the customer. Customer will arrange there own transportation once the locomotive is ready to be collected. Contact me for more details.
